about

Debut Release from Lost Kids filled with intelligent lyrics and emotion filled content...

Formed in 2012, Lost Kids are a hip hop group consisting of songwriter/MC Dima Maks and producer/ singer/songwriter Nick Travis.

Dimitri Akimov (known as Dima), and Nicholas Giurgevich (known as Nick Travis) first met in 2011, while working in an clinical institution as behavioural counsellors. Nick Travis played guitar, wrote and recorded his own songs. Dima composed some poetry, wrote alternative hip hop, and recorded on a frequent basis. Both were not new to music.

When Nick showed Dima a few of his songs at work, Dima had noticed that Nick had a distinct ability to rhyme over a beat. Nick had no idea what Dima was talking about. Nick loved music, but his music was indie and acoustic, with many vocal harmonies, and deadly guitar riffs. Dima on the other hand, had been writing hip hop and poetry since he was a teenager. They were two different people, with two different backgrounds, and two polar styles that found an illogical fusion.

Nick and Dima began getting together on a regular basis, in order to establish a musical connection. They started from scratch, recording in a home studio, over YouTube beats. While searching for a name, they realized that they had finally found what they had been looking for, and before being found you must be lost. The name Lost Kids was born.

Dima introduced Nick to Spencer Campeau (known as Nock Nock), a talented local sound engineer, producer, and beat maker. Dima and Nock Nock had known each other for years through the local music scene. They began recording at Spencer's studio. Nick was always interested in the producing and recording aspect of music, he always had a good ear for it. Shortly after Nick picked up FL Studio and began to make beats for the group.

At this time, Dima introduced Nick Travis to Greg Campbell also known as Bigstuff / Bobby Pinz, who was a friend, producer, talented studio engineer, and former artist with Canadian Rap legends Organized Rhyme. Greg, along with being a successful Realtor, held a strong stature in the music business, which meant he had experience. As NockNock's studio was being moved and re-modeled, Lost Kids began recording with Greg at his studio. Greg loved the Lost Kids feel and started to believe
in the group, more then just as an engineer for their music. Greg became a fan. He thought with the right guidance, Lost Kids can go places.

To this day, Lost Kids have shared the stage with industry quality names like Sweatshop Union/Pigeon Hole, and award winning Chicago based hip hop band, Sidewalk Chalk.

Their sound is a beautiful blend of original, sampled, stone structured music that goes deep. If you’re not a thinker then Lost Kids is not for you. But if you are, you’ve come to the right place.

Funny how things happen. It's almost as if it's meant to be. Nick and Dima continue to laugh about the way everything came to fruition.
